COP27, taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt

COP27, taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt between 6th and 18th November 2022.

With the Egyptian government holding the role of COP27 president and having a vision of turning planning into implementation, Africa is determined to show its leadership in climate action. Against the backdrop of the energy crisis, it’s a critical moment to accelerate the urgent action needed to address the climate emergency.

The hope is that COP27 will be the turning point where the world came together and made bold and immediate changes needed to limit global warming well below 2°C whilst continuing to keep the 1.5°C target alive building on the COP26 conference held in Glasgow last year.

Globally, the increasing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events is impacting the lives and livelihoods of millions of people. Rising global average temperature and rapid global warming are causing alarming consequences on human beings and all other forms of life on earth. It is time for urgent action.
